SYMPATHIZING WITH YOUTH
I. INTRODUCTION:
What can we do? Youth have been used in the Lord's work. Acts 5:10; 1 John 2:13-14; Younger women: Ttius 5:14; Acts 12:13
-
We are often misunderstood or we may misunderstand. Prov. 2:1-6 Teacher said to Johnny, "Can you tell me what a gruge is" Johnny: "A gruge is a place where they keep cars."
We think that people are unfair, too. Matt. 5:11; Rom. 12:14 Teacher patiently says: "If 1 and 1 makes 2, 2 and 2 makes 4, what does 4 and 4 make?" Pupil: "That ain't fair teacher you answered the easy ones yourself and leave the hard ones"
We are a part of what we associate with, 1 Cor 15:33 Teacher asked: "What is the Star Spanngled Banner about? Johnny said: "That is what they play before the fight on TV."
We are determined that we are right, every time. 2 Pet. 4:14-15 The two ministers of diferent faiths, agreed to disagree, One said: "you in your way, and I in my way."
II. WE ARE DIFFERENT. 1 Cor. 4:7; 1 Cor. 7:34
Bob Hope: "two woment looking at a mountain. (fall season) "She said it looked like a rainbow." Two teenagers standing by said: "Man did that crazy popsickle."
IIi. WE LIVE IN A WORLD OF FEAR
Johnny said to his father: "I think I'm going to flunk my history due to illnuss" Father: "Johnny, you are not sick." Johnny, "yes", "but the fellow I copy from is home with the mumps." Matt. 8:26; Heb. 10:31
IV. WE NEED TO BE CORRECTED
Mother: "Johnny sit down and tell your little sister a story." Johnny: "I can't sit down, mother, I just told daddy one." Prov. 13:24; Heb. 12:6-7
